Sunseeker Yachts, based in Mayfair, London is helping to raise £1million for the largest charity shooting challenge to take place in May 2010, ‘Annabel’s Champions’
‘Annabel’s Champions’ is a new charity event concept derived from David Tye of Rugby Estates Plc helped by a select committee of 25 powerful individuals. The clay pigeon shooting charity event will hope to raise a minimum of £1million to help 100 charities across the UK.
David Lewis Managing Director of Sunseeker London comments, “Meeting David Tye and hearing the passion behind this charity event ‘Annabel’s Champions’, I couldn’t wait to be involved. The onus of the day will be fun and friendly with the opportunity for your chosen charity to win a huge amount of money. As a society, I believe we are generous in our philanthropic activities; however it is always refreshing to hear new and exciting ways in which money can be raised for the UK’s best causes. I can’t wait to be a Champion and support my chosen charity!”
David Tye of Rugby Estates comments “The support from David Lewis and Christopher Head at Sunseeker in London couldn’t come at a better time. We are pulling out all of the stops over Christmas to make sure that this event is the best ever! The take up so far has been very positive and we are on target to raise £1million!”
Dylan Williams of The Royal Berkshire Shooting School and where the event on May 18th 2010 will take place continues, “Every year we host around 30 charity shooting days. ‘Annabel’s Champions’ will enable 100 champions to really support their charity and be in the chance of winning their chosen charity £250,000, £150,000 or £100,000. This event is great for the shooting community and will encourage more and more people to get involved with the country sport and we are very proud to be associated with this prestigious event.”
The concept behind ‘Annabel’s Champions’ is to have fun within a very wealthy network of people and to ultimately win your charity one of the three wheel of fortune prizes. This style of event has been tried and tested before on smaller sums of money so we know it works!
Notes to editors
The aim of the ‘Annabel’s Champions’ charity event is to raise £1million for 100 charities across the UK. The date has been provisionally booked for May 18th 2010 at The Royal Berkshire Shooting School, Berkshire. Highclere may be considered further in the New Year.
A committee of 25 powerful individuals is currently being pulled together to enable those committee members to invite 3 of their friends into the event and champion their individual charities. With this, a total of 100 shots (or ‘Champions’) will be achieved, all paying £10,000 on behalf of their chosen charity. Each Champion is responsible for paying £10,000 to allow their charity to be involved in the wheel of fortune draw which could win the charity 1 of 3 prizes, a cash prize of £250,000, £150,000 and £100,000. Each Champion needs to provide a money can’t buy auction lot.
Prize money could vary depending on what the Committee decides nearer the time and sponsorship retrieval.
